About Us

The Food Bank Almelo is a dynamic organization. Since its establishment in 2008, it has grown from a small group of initiators into a well-oiled organization with approximately 95 volunteers. They do not receive any compensation for their work.

Day in and day out, they try to do their part in solving the financial problems of a group of residents in the municipalities of Almelo and Tubbergen. They do this by collecting food products (thereby also combating food waste) and then distributing them to those who live around the poverty line and have little money left for purchasing food.

The food parcels are distributed weekly to those who meet the criteria set by Food Banks Netherlands, after a financial assessment.

The Almelo Food Bank has established its place in the social assistance network in recent years. It is part of the Poverty Pact, which was established in Almelo between various institutions concerned about increasing poverty.

The Food Bank Almelo foundation, like 171 other food banks, is affiliated with the Association of Food Banks Netherlands.

Funding Partners

The Almelo Food Bank cannot do without supportive partners. The Food Bank is, after all, dependent on monetary donations and food donations to be able to do its work.

Integrity Policy

We consider working with integrity very important. This definitely applies to working with our clients who are vulnerable due to the situation they find themselves in.
